Historic square lit with Christmas projections mapped onto the façades

Christmas 2026 · squares, monuments, streets, façades

Your historic centre, as it will look on switch-on night.

We design and build custom Christmas lighting for urban spaces and architecture. Before any quote we show you the result: a photorealistic render of your own site, built on your own photograph. Free, within 72 hours.

2026 calendar: Christmas installations are designed between September and November. The earlier the brief arrives, the more room the project has.

Before / after

The same place, two different evenings.

Every render starts from a real photograph of the site. Geometry, proportions, framing and surroundings stay identical: only the light changes. That is what makes the preview usable as the basis of a project rather than as an illustration.

Historic square with loggia and civic building

Projections mapped onto the façade surfaces, a light texture across the paving, the tower treated as the dominant element. The sky stays dark.

Project render

The offer

The photorealistic 3D render is free.

Deciding on a lighting project from a list of projectors is hard for anyone: for a mayor, for a shopping centre director, for an event manager. So the first step is not a quote, it is an image of your own site, lit.

What you get

Freeno commitment
  • One high-resolution photorealistic render of your site, generated from your own photo
  • Two scene states: full intensity and a restrained version, to see how much light is actually needed
  • Technical note: products, optics and fixture positions assumed to achieve that effect
  • Feasibility check and a coherent budget range, before any offer
  • Delivered within 72 working hours, as PDF and images ready to share with a council or a board
  • Your photos stay yours: used only for the render, never published without consent

How it works

  1. You send us a photo

A single frontal, well-exposed image of the site, even taken on a phone. The quality of that shot is the first lever of realism: avoid oblique, crowded or backlit pictures.

  2. We read the place

Type, materials, volumes, context, constraints. The lighting approach comes from there, not from a catalogue: a stone façade and a snowy wood are not treated the same way.

  3. We build the light onto the photo

Structure, proportions and framing stay identical. Only the lighting changes, and every effect is anchored to a real product from our range.

  4. We deliver it, and we talk

Render, technical note and budget range. If the project convinces you, we move to a site survey and a detailed proposal. If it does not, the image is yours at no cost.

Where we work

Every place asks for a different light.

There is no standard Christmas package, because there are no two identical squares. Surfaces, distances, power supply points, constraints and audiences all change: the project is built around them.

01

Squares and historic centres

Where a town gathers. Projections mapped onto the fronts, textures on the paving, one dominant element holding the space together.

02

Monuments and façades

Grazing light that reveals volumes, rustication and cornices. The architecture stays the protagonist; decoration does not cover it.

03

Streets, arcades and trees

Routes read in movement: backdrops closing the street, carpets of light, trees treated as stage wings rather than as decoration.

04

Civic buildings and towers

The sign recognisable from a distance. Tower in the lead, façade telling the story, context following: hierarchy in three levels.

05

Retail and shopping centres

Entrances, fronts and car parks. Systems sized for long cycles, with programmed scenes and content that can change year on year.

06

Parks, woods and paths

Natural areas where light must be contained: controlled downward beams, no spill toward the sky, attention to wildlife.

Method

Light is not added: it is designed.

We manufacture professional projectors and design the systems that use them. That lets us start from the effect a place needs and work back to the optic that produces it, custom if necessary, instead of fitting the project to a catalogue.

Talk to a lighting designer

Four principles, always the same

  • Dark sceneChristmas projections live in darkness. If the functional white lighting stays on, the image fades: deciding what to switch off is part of the design.
  • Hierarchyone element dominates, one tells the story, one accompanies. Lighting everything at the same intensity flattens the depth of a space.
  • Measurethe building must not end up brighter than its surroundings. The right amount of light is the amount needed, not the amount available.
  • Motivated colourcolour and projections are used because the event is temporary. On permanent architecture we stay with whites, within colour temperatures coherent with the material.

The project path

brief → site survey → concept and render → optical calibration → manufacturing → installation → support through the season → removal

Built projects

Christmas, and not only Christmas.

Some of the places we have worked in. Our Christmas practice comes out of monumental and architectural lighting: the same craft applied to a season.

At the largest scale

The same technology works over extraordinary distances: Tribute in Light in New York, where Spacecannon supplied the Xenon technology behind the two vertical beams, and the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas, with nine 7,000 W Xenon projectors and a beam legible beyond 500 metres. These are collective projects, authored by international lighting design studios: our part is the machine that produces that light.

Frequently asked

What people ask before we start.

Is the 3D render really free?

Yes, with nothing attached. It is how we prefer to begin: showing the result before you spend anything, and giving you an image you can take to a council, a committee or a board. If the project does not go ahead, the render is still yours.

What do you need from me?

A photo of the site, the exact address, the occasion and an indicative budget range. The photo matters more than everything else: frontal, well exposed, no crowd in the foreground. If you have nothing suitable, we will tell you how to take it in two minutes on a phone.

How long does it take?

72 working hours from a complete brief with a usable photo. During the October–November peak the queue can stretch: an early brief means more room for the project.

Is the render realistic, or an embellished image?

The rule is complete fidelity to the original: only the light changes. Structure, geometry, framing and surroundings stay as they are in your photo, with no added elements and no effects overlaid on the image. Every effect you see is anchored to a real projector from our range, so the render can become the basis of an actual quote.

How much does a Christmas lighting project cost?

It depends on scale, the number of surfaces, system complexity and distance. The ranges we work with, and that you will find in the form, start at 5,000–10,000 € for sites within 50 km of our premises and go beyond 50,000 € for extensive urban projects.

Indicating a range commits you to nothing: it lets us tell you straight away whether what you have in mind is feasible with those resources, or propose a more concentrated version that still works.

Do you also handle installation, operation and removal?

Yes. Site survey, concept, manufacturing of the fixtures, installation, on-site optical calibration, support throughout the switch-on period and removal. On-site calibration is the part no render can replace: that is where the project becomes what you saw.

How are consumption, safety and glare handled?

With professional LED projectors, programmable scene cycles and DMX control, which allow intensity to be reduced late at night or alternated with restrained states. In design we work with oriented beams and selected optics to avoid glare toward roads and pedestrians and to limit spill toward the sky. Actual power draw for the proposed system is stated in the technical note.

Do you work with municipalities, public bodies and tenders?

Yes, and it is a significant part of our work. We can provide the technical material needed to prepare a specification, product photometrics, positioning layouts and lighting reports. Do mention in the form if a tender is under way or a specification has to be drafted.

What do you do with my photos and my data?

The photos you send are used to produce the render and stay within the project: we do not publish them or use them in communication without your written consent. Contact details are used to answer your request and, only if you allow it, to send you updates on our projects. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Let's start

Two ways in.

If you already have a place in mind, ask for the render: it is the most useful step and it costs nothing. If you first need to know whether we are the right people to talk to, write us a couple of lines.

We need the exact address: distance, context and orientation change both the design and the cost range.

One frontal photo, at dusk or in full daylight, with no crowd in the foreground: it is the first lever of realism. If you only have oblique shots, send them anyway and we will tell you what is needed.
