Ride Beat 2026: the grandstand at the Monza Autodrome lights up with Spacecannon

Monza, Italy

For the Ride Beat 2026 installation, Spacecannon was responsible for the coloured lighting of the main grandstand in front of the pit lane at the Monza

Autodromo Formula 1 circuit.
The event is linked to the Cancro Primo Aiuto charity, which organises a cycle race to raise funds for people affected by cancer. For this reason, the lighting was not merely a scenic element, but also a way of raising awareness and creating a visual identity for an important cause.

The project combined lighting design, dynamic lighting and animated projections, transforming a sports grandstand into a living canvas, capable of following the rhythm of the cyclists and reinforcing the initiative’s message.

he charity’s colours on the grandstand

For the occasion, 30 DMX512-controlled eCOLOR40 RGBW units were installed, displaying the colours of the Cancro Primo Aiuto charity along the entire length of the main grandstand.

Blue, orange and white alternated, blending and chasing one another, following the flow of the cyclists as they passed by. The result was lighting that was never static, in which colour became an active part of the event and visually accompanied its rhythm.

The association’s logo at the centre of the grandstand

The association’s logo was projected onto the centre of the grandstand using an EYE 200 projector.

The projection of the logo gave the installation a clear and recognisable focal point, directly linking the lighting effect to the identity of the cause. An immediate communication element, capable of conveying the meaning of the initiative at a glance.

Dynamic projections beneath the canopy

The real innovation of the 2026 edition was the introduction of dynamic projections beneath the grandstand canopy. Four 1000W Black Devil Extreme units were installed, controlled via DMX alongside the eCOLOR40.

These projectors displayed images of four cyclists which, fading in sequence, added further dynamism to the installation. The movement of the figures beneath the canopy created an immersive effect in keeping with the race theme, adding depth and rhythm to the entire scene.

From conception to dismantling

Spacecannon managed the entire event independently: from the design of the graphics to the lighting programming, right through to the installation and dismantling of the system.

This comprehensive oversight of the operational phases ensured complete consistency between the concept, the technical implementation and the final result, guaranteeing an installation with meticulous attention to every detail and perfectly aligned with the objectives of both the event and the charity.
