When light meets adventure
"Pedala coi Lupi" is not just a sporting event. It is a unique event, capable of transforming a park into an immersive experience combining nature, spectacular installations, and visual storytelling. Created by the Torrevilla Bike association and now in its 35th edition, the event has established itself as a symbolic event in the Italian outdoor scene.
Every year, hundreds of participants tackle a night-time mountain bike trail, guided by lights, sounds, and scenic elements. Since 2022, Spacecannon has been collaborating on the event, contributing lighting solutions designed to enhance the environment and accompany the narrative of the experience.
Lighting as a means of constructing meaning
La collaborazione tra Spacecannon e Torrevilla nasce dall'esigenza di sostituire l'uso del fuoco – precedentemente centrale nell'allestimento – con una soluzione sostenibile e sicura. La luce diventa così il nuovo linguaggio espressivo dell'evento.

Spacecannon supported the artistic direction in identifying the best technical solutions, testing effects in-house and on-site. The result is a visual experience that evolves with each edition, with temporary installations designed to be assembled and disassembled in less than 24 hours.
A luminous cathedral in the woods
Among the most evocative installations created, the "Cathedral" represents a turning point in the design. It is a tree-lined avenue completely transformed by rotating projectors and optical diffusers, creating a kaleidoscopic effect that accompanies cyclists into an almost dreamlike dimension.
The scenography was inspired by an AI video generated during the concept phase: an example of how technology, creative vision, and lighting know-how can merge to generate new forms of storytelling.
Technical details and chosen solutions
All installations had to be modular, lightweight, powered by portable generators, and resistant to outdoor conditions. Spacecannon provided a selected range of LED projectors, custom optics, and mobile structures designed to integrate with:
- backlit inflatable structures
- projections on fabrics and natural surfaces
- dynamic effects synchronized with the soundtrack
- themed lighting with AI-generated digital characters

Lighting designed not only to guide, but to evoke: this is the challenge faced every year by Torrevilla Bike together with Spacecannon. A project that demonstrates how light can tell a story and transform the landscape into a stage.
